About these comparisons. The revised English front shown here is the cover artwork of the current English edition. Repairs and color choices are interpretations of the surviving print. The Spanish text is also published as a Kindle edition, El rey Midas (Edición anotada).

What we have kept, and what we have renewed
The front combines earlier reconstruction with recovered lettering and later local repairs; its complete early English-artwork history remains unresolved. The back returns to the surviving painting, with local repair and newly set English words.
Our aim is to bring the old pictures back into the light while keeping their character. Repairs and color adjustments are interpretations, not a recovery of the exact colors when first printed. AI tools were used for some repairs and reconstructions; those areas may differ from the surviving artwork.
The back-cover cartoon bears the signature associated with Ramón Cilla. That credit belongs to the cartoon; it does not establish who drew the front cover or all the pictures inside.
The surviving scans remain distinct from the revised pictures. These are cover comparisons, not a complete facsimile of every page.
