About these comparisons. The revised English front shown here is the cover artwork of the current English edition. Repairs and color choices are interpretations of the surviving print. Spanish artwork is shown for comparison; it does not imply a separately published Spanish edition.

What we have kept, and what we have renewed

This volume has a mixed restoration history, including earlier reconstruction and masked repair. The revised back returns to the surviving picture with local repairs; the English words have been newly set.

Our aim is to bring the old pictures back into the light while keeping their character. Repairs and color adjustments are interpretations, not a recovery of the exact colors when first printed. AI tools were used for some repairs and reconstructions; those areas may differ from the surviving artwork.

The back-cover cartoon bears the signature associated with Ramón Cilla. That credit belongs to the cartoon; it does not establish who drew the front cover or all the pictures inside.

The surviving scans remain distinct from the revised pictures. These are cover comparisons, not a complete facsimile of every page.
